If I Should Die Tonight

If I should die tonight,
then let me die in your arms.
I want to look you straight into your eyes and say,
hold me.
Hold me until the last breath leaves my body and the
coldness subsides.
Kiss me ever so gently on my lips and clutch me close
to your breast.
Hold me as a mother would hold her child while breast feeding,
before the child lays down to rest.

If I should die tonight,
think about the moments we've shared.
How I first met you and when we realized,
we were in love and cared.
Remember how I would brush the hair from your face and gently
stroke your cheek leaving a trace,
with the tip of my finger.
Slowly rub your temples and nibble on your ear until you
let out a soft sigh,
that only I could hear.
No longer will you see that twinkle in my eyes,
please don't cry.

If I should die tonight,
then let me die in your arms.
Even in death I will walk by your side and you will
never be alone.
Always remember that I loved you and that we lived for loved.
You were the fire and passion which counted for every
beat of my heart.
You must believe me now when I say,
love is eternal and we will never be far,
far, so very far apart.
I will be here with you always.

If I should die tonight,
then let me die in your arms.
Your face is the last that I wish to see.
I can feel your tear falling softly on me.
Your touch is the last I wish to feel and your love
would be the last thing that has ever felt real.
If I should die tonight,
then I will leave you my heart.
Please know forever and always we shall never part.
I love you.
